Not all people suffer from a midlife crisis. And often a sudden change in someones life can trigger a Midlife Crisis.
Some of those triggers of Midlife Crisis are:

- age- yes simply realizing how old you are could trigger a midlife crisis.
A midlife crisis could go on for as long as 5 years. And often by the time it ends there is a lot of financial as well as marital issues. Many marriages don’t survive when one or both partners have suffered a midlife crisis.
Realizing you or a loved one may be going through a tough time is the first step to stop your mid life crisis. The second step would be by getting help. You may consider going to counseling to help you figure things out. But there are also many books available on the topic.
