The Art Power Chart Ceremony Shines with Director Zhao's Honorary Title of "Annual Driving Force"

On April 24, China Modern Art Power Chart Annual Awards Ceremony 2012, sponsored by the magazine L'OFFICIAL ART, was held in Beijing. Thanks to his leading role as an organizer of various artistic activities held at the Times Museum, Zhao Qie, the director-general of Times Property Group's Center of Brand and Marketing and curator of the Times Museum, was awarded the honorary title of "Artistic Driving Force in 2012." Currently, the Museum ranks No. 14 on the Power Chart.

Fifteen honorary titles were awarded in the ceremony, and over 100 celebrities from the worlds of art, business and fashion were present on invitation. The chart listed people who were instrumental in China's modern-art circle in 2012, including artists, curators, collectors and others in associated fields.

Mr. Zhao was honored as a "2012 Real Property Art Marketing Celebrity" at the end of last year, and he was said to live up to the grand title of "2012 Art Driving Force" this year. According to one media agent, "Zhao Qie's winning the title shows that this year's chart has paid attention has been paid to those low-profile modern-art practitioners with a down-to-earth attitude. This is also progress in the field of art."

The Times Museum has in recent years given increasingly exceptional performances in various aspects of art. For instance, it held "The Power of Doubt" and "Autonomous Regions," two exhibitions planned by the famous exhibition planner Hou Hanru, which seized the attention of the international art community; it organized the first individual exhibition of Jiang Zhi, a young artist, thus providing great support for the artistic power of a new generation; it spared no effort to hold the annual community art festival, a trial of popularizing public art and the first of its kind in the Pearl River Delta, which yet greatly benefited the residents of surrounding communities.

Mr. Zhao’s receipt of the title is a significant reward for the Times Museum's exhibitions and activities of recent years. Moreover, it has witnessed how the facility achieved its status in the circle of Chinese modern art and became accepted by the academic community and media. As a private, non-profit gallery, the Times Museum will continue its mission of hosting art activities for the public.
