A retrospect to the past 13 years' Chinese Film Media Awards
Started from 2000, the Chinese Film Media Awards has gone through a course of 13 years. In order to refine and spead the brand, the sponsors, with the aim of spreading film culture and film art, organized the "Starlight Times--Retrospective Exhibition of 13 Years' Chinese Film Media Awards." The exhibition would reproduce the highlights of the past 13 years' Chinese Film Media Awards from an artistic perspective, presenting to citizens the exploratory views, independence, freedom, diversity and open spirit of Chinese films.
On the opening day, the Drug War produced by Beijing Hairun Pictures and directed by Johnnie To was screened first. Director Johnnie To was invited to the opening ceremony, and to be the keynote speaker for the exhibition's forum, sharing the episodes during the shooting process of his new work.
Mr. To's first personal film exhibition in mainland
By virtue of his first mainland personal film exhibition, To was undoubtedly the brightest star in the retrospective exhibition. As early as 2000 when the first Chinese Film Media Awards was held, The Mission directed by To won the Best Scriptwriter and the Top Ten Films awards. Since then, he has formed ties with the Awards and was nominated the Best Director for eight times successively, his film Election winning the Best Film award in the sixth Chinese Film Media Awards. It is fair to say that To's works grew up with the Chinese Film Media Awards.
The Drug War was screened first at the opening ceremony and To's many other classic films would be presented for fans afterwards during the exhibition. To participated in the interview at the opening ceremony, his topics covering the spread of film culture and the shooting and editing of his new work Contemporary Musical Design for Living. Then he attended the themed forum in which there were a variety of activities. While listening to Mr. To, the audience could deeply feel the endless charm of films.
Shooting of the Contemporary Musical Design for Living is said to have been finished and the film currently enters post-production. Starring Chow Yun-Fat, Sylvia Chang, Eason Chan, Tang Wei, Wang Ziyi, Lang Yueting and so on, it should be one of the most expected Chinese films in 2015.
