Guangzhou Holds "Volunteer Service Communication"; Times Property Wins the Title of "Caring Enterprise"

The Guangzhou Volunteer Service Communication and First Chinese Youth Volunteer Service Project Contest were successfully held in Guangzhou from December 3 to 4. The events were jointly organized by the Central Committee of the Communist Young League, Ministry of Civil Affairs, China Volunteer Service Foundation, Guangdong Provincial People's Government and CPC Guangzhou Committee. Based on the theme of "Youth Volunteer Service Keeps Chinese Dream Alive," the contest aimed at creating a national exchange and cooperative platform for voluntary service combining communication, grassroots support, resource integration and cooperation and sharing. Mr. Shum Chiu Hung, the chairman and CEO of Times Property, was invited to the event and Times Property was awarded the title of "Caring Enterprise."

On November 3, the project site exhibition of Guangzhou Volunteer Service Communication was launched at the Poly World Trade Center Expo, which gave a comprehensive account of the information on the carrying out of voluntary services around the country. On November 4, the project held a grand award ceremony at the site of the competition. Liu Qi, a former member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and president of the China Volunteer Service Foundation, and other leaders presented awards to the winners of outstanding individual awards, outstanding organization awards and outstanding project awards of the Tenth Chinese Young Volunteers, and to caring enterprises and media on the scene. Times Property won the title of "Caring Enterprise" due to its remarkable contributions in terms of charity. The award was given to Mr. Shum Chiu Hung, the chairman and CEO of Times Property, by Vice Minister of Civil Affairs Gong Puguang.

The award is further testimony to Times Property's renown for public service after having obtained the "President's Award" from the Community Chest this past June.

As a real estate developer of high reputation in the industry, Times Property's charitable institution--Times Charity Fund--is among the corporate charitable institutions that were the first to set up among China's real estate developers. After over ten years of development, Times Property sponsored the establishment of 12 Hope schools, and donated two general hospitals and a kindergarten. Additionally, it has helped more than 3000 patients with cataracts by providing them with free surgery so that they could see again. Moreover, 20,000 students from needy families have been given the means to complete their studies with a total amount of donations standing at nearly RMB 300 million.

This year, the special education teaching building at Guangzhou Children's Welfare Institute was completed. Furthermore, Times Charity Fund donated RMB 1 million to establish the Guangdong Youth Development Foundation and lend support to Guangdong Poverty Alleviation Day. For more than 10 years since its establishment, Times Property has not stopped supporting charity. In the future, Times Property will observe its philosophy on charity, striving to undertake charitable causes and make continuous efforts in order to become a true corporate citizen.
