“Wrong Place, Right Time -- Times Museum Community Art Festival 2014” was officially opened in the afternoon of December 20, 2014! The Christmas party started with children from the children’s choir of Guangdong Union Sunday School singing two Christmas songs. Executive Curator of Times Museum Mr. Zhao Ju, chief planner of this community art festival Ms. Wang Lili, guests including Feng Guochuan, He Jianxiang and He Qiwo, and Director of LEGO Education Center Ms. Wan Qian cut the cake and announced the grand opening of this community art festival.

On the opening ceremony, the short video “Open” produced by Wu Chao, an image & video artist, especially for Times Museum was displayed and the video was well-received by the audience who gave warm applause. The atmosphere of the ceremony was heightened even further. On the Christmas party, Santa Claus gave children presents and the residents enjoyed delicious refreshments. Children wrote down their best wishes on cards and hung them on the Christmas tree so that Santa Claus would make them all come true. The Times Museum was filled with happiness and laughter!

This community art festival aims to free the museum from the limitations of its original purpose: museum is not only a “place” for art because art is everywhere, inside or outside the walls. We find art in public spaces, private spaces, our daily life and we invite the public to join us on the journey of art. The details that go unnoticed every day and the ideas that are disappearing for not being acknowledged will be rediscovered and awaken.
