An event titled "Opening Ceremony of Roman Ondák: Storyboard Exhibition" and a special preview for guests were held at Times Museum on the afternoon of April 19, 2015.

The exhibition, with Nikita Yingqian Cai and Direlia Lazo serving as curators, represents the first solo exhibition of Roman Ondák in Greater China. Moreover, it's the most extensive exhibition of Ondák's works to be held by an Asian non-profit organization.

Ondák has, in recent years, been prominent in a wide range of important art events, including participation in 2009 La Biennale di Venezia on behalf of the Slovak National Pavilion and in Kassel Documenta 13. He has held exhibitions in the Museum of Modern Art (New York), Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía (Madrid), Deutsche Guggenheim (Berlin), Musée d'Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris and other internationally renowned art galleries. He was honored as "Artist of the Year" by Deutsche Bank in 2012.

The opening ceremony and guest special preview invited nearly 100 curators and guests from the realm of art and culture. The curator, Nikita Yingqian Cai, delivered a speech, in which she indicated that the exhibition's "Storyboard" theme originated from a group of works of the same name created by Ondák in 2012. However, with this exhibition a new implementation was made specially for Times Museum. The work selection and presentation mode comprised a series of interlocking but independent stories. The fictional narrations mirror the essence of Roman Ondák's artistic practice, as they describe, question, negate, present, expand and deny the physical boundaries inherent in the temporal and spatial correlation of space and the imagination of the artist and audience in regard to spatial relationships.

Subsequent to the opening ceremony, the artist and curators guided the guests on a tour of the works on site. All the participants expressed keen interest in the works at the exhibition, and the exchange of ideas was intensive.

Significantly, this is the second solo exhibition of an internationally renowned artist to be hosted by Times Museum, following the 2013 solo exhibition of Pipilotti Rist. It is emblematic of the fact that Times Museum has carved out a niche among major international contemporary art institutions. Thanks to more than five years of hard work and persistent academic effort, Times Museum now holds a unique position in China's fine-art circle. It has emerged as a landmark in contemporary art for the entire Pearl River Delta region.
