The long-awaited 2015 Times Property Guangdong Football Association League Competition was held in the Guangdong People’s Stadium on April 25, 2015. The match was hosted by Guangdong Football Association, undertaken by the Guangdong Folk Football Promotion Association, and co-sponsored by Times Property and Dynamic Investments Limited.

The teams entered in the competition came from all the prefectures of Guangdong Province, and the event consisted of "home" and "away" matches. Thus, eight prefecture-level teams--from Conghua, Shenzhen, Foshan, Zhanjiang, Zhaoqing, Zhongshan, Shaoguan and Maoming--participated in the first competition. However, as the annual event continues the number will surely increase. The competition is designed to test the development and comprehensive strength of Guangdong football, integrate the football resources from throughout the province, encourage the growth of popular football competition and meet the ongoing need for the advancement of Guangdong football.

Popular football is developing rapidly in Guangdong Province. Accordingly, the Guangdong Football Association is collaborating with the Guangdong Folk Football Promotion Association to create a leading provincial football competition that will encourage a high level of competition through the expert management of a standardized competition institution. Both organizations will hold the competition annually so that, in time, it will be recognized as the premier brand in popular football.  Additionally, they will establish a league competition platform that satisfies the wide-ranging demands of social groups for football, including participation, appreciation, investment and consumption. In the process they will expand the provincial football market and generate a provincial football industry, through which there will emerge a new world for the development of social football in Guangdong.

The Guangdong Folk Football Promotion Association is a non-profit social organization jointly founded by Chinese Football Association Vice President Rong Zhixing, the Times Property Group, Dynamic Investments Limited and others who are interested in the healthy growth of football. Its purpose is to gather popular football resources to promote activities for the public interest and charity in the football industry. Moreover, the Guangdong Folk Football Promotion Association continues its strong support for, and promotion of, football in Guangdong. Based on the slogan "Play Football Together," the association seeks to encourage the awareness and interest regarding football so that, through joint efforts, a vital industry will emerge.
