Times SYSU Faculty Fellowship Holds Its Grand Award Ceremony
The grand award ceremony of "Times SYSU Faculty Fellowship," was held on the afternoon of May 14, 2015 at Nyingchi County Middle School, in Tibet, as part of a cooperative aid project conducted by Guangzhou Times Property Charity Fund (a.k.a. "Times Charity Fund") and the postgraduate teaching team from Sun Yat-sen University (SYSU). The attendees included Vice President Mr. Yan Guangmei and Secretary Mr. Huang Yi, of the Youth League Committee of Sun Yat-sen University; the secretary of the Nyingchi County Party Committee and Executive Deputy County Chief Mr. Sun Shihong; the deputy party secretary and deputy director general of the Nyingchi County Education and Sports Bureau, Ms. Wu Zhenzhu; and the director of the Education Bureau (i.e., Sports Bureau) Mr. Yu Jiang; and Mr. Lei Zhenpeng, the secretary of Youth League Committee in the Nyingchi region; Nyingchi County Middle School President Mr. Pubu Cidan; Executive Chairman Mr. Zhao Ju, Secretary-General Mrs. Li Juan and Deputy Secretary-General Mr. Wu Weiqi of Times Charity Fund; and the secretaries and deputy secretaries of various departments at Sun Yat-sun University.

The project of the Times SYSU Faculty Fellowship, launched in 2014, is the first effort co-founded by a postgraduate teaching team and a charitable foundation. In this case the objective is to encourage the efforts of teachers in Tibet. It is hoped that the faculty members in Tibet will cultivate a sense of achievement and thereby strengthen the education development in the Nyingchi region.

Secretary Sun Shihong read the list of winners aloud, after which Executive Chairman Zhao Ju, Secretary-General Li Juan and Secretary Lei collaboratively present the awards. Subsequently, the teacher representative of Nyingchi County Middle School, on behalf of all the winners, delivered an acceptance speech.

The partnership has developed the new ideas for the effective support of education. The Times Charity Fund optimizes the trinity system of assistance, scholarship and awards in order to promote the development of education in all aspects.
