Solo Exhibition of Tsai Ming-Liang in Times Museum

Recently, "Stray Dogs at the Museum -- Tsai Ming-Liang's Solo Exhibition" was grandly opened in Guangdong Times Museum, where the original works of Tsai were exhibited in China's Mainland for the very first time. This exhibition consists of the image installations and the film of Stray Dogs, the documentary, Yesterday, Tsai's Midnight Talks, classic songs sharing session, and the fans meeting with Lee Kang-sheng, Best Actor of the Golden Horse Award. The original single scenes that are not included in the final version of Stray Dog are exhibited through the installation projected in the venue.

Tsai Ming-liang, the avant-garde artist, who has enjoyed a world-renowned reputation for more than 20 years, brings his solo exhibition to the Guangdong Times Museum, "Stray Dog at the Museum". This is the very first solo of Tsai in China's Mainland after his successful solo exhibition at the Museum of Louvre, the retrospective show in the New York Museum of Moving Image, "Discovering the Other -- Group Exhibition" in Taipei Palace Museum, and the exhibition at the Venice Biennale 2007.

Tsai Ming-liang is the one of representative directors of the second-generation of Taiwan's New Wave cinema movement. He presents the empty and the solitude spiritual world of people in today's society with his sharp and cold style. His films are also award-winners of many important events. Vive L'amour was awarded the Golden Lion of Venice Film Festival in 1994; The River, the Berlinale Grand Jury Prize in 1997; The Wayward Cloud, the Berlinale Silver Bear in 2005; and Stray Dogs, the Grand Jury Prize of Venice Film Festival in 2013. He is also the winner of five Fipresci Prizes awarded by the International Federation of Film Critics. In 2009, his work, Face, entered the Museum of Louvre, becoming the first film in the collection this palace of arts.
