Mr. Shum Chiu Hung Elected as Executive President of the Guangzhou Chamber of Commerce of Private Enterprise
The annual meeting of the Guangzhou Federation of Industry and Commerce (Guangzhou General Chamber of Commerce) and the Ninth Board of Directors and Supervisors of the Guangzhou Chamber of Commerce of Private Enterprise were held at Guangzhou Baiyun International Convention Center on the afternoon of January 7. As part of the proceedings, Mr. Shum Chiu Hung, Chairman of Times Property Holding Limited, was elected to serve as the executive president of the Guangzhou Chamber of Commerce of Private Enterprise. Additionally, he was included among the "Top 10 Outstanding Young Entrepreneurs." Guangzhou Mayor Chen Jianhua attended the meeting and issued a certificate to the newly elected chairman and president of the Chamber. Su Zhijia, president of the CPPCC Guangzhou Municipal Committee, along with municipal leaders Cai Chaolin and Ping Xinguang, Pan Jianguo, Municipal Government Secretary-General, Guo Hanyi, CPC Secretary of Guangdong Federation of Industry and Commerce; and Liu Zhiqiang, president of the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce, presented the awards to the newly elected vice chairman and vice president as well as the winners of the "Excellent President" and "Top 10 Outstanding Young Entrepreneurs" honors.

The conference reportedly encompassed the ninth Executive Committee Meeting of the fourteenth Guangzhou Federation of Industry and Commerce (Guangzhou General Chamber of Commerce), the meeting of the Guangzhou Federation of Industry and Commerce (Guangzhou General Chamber of Commerce) and the inauguration of the ninth Board of Directors and Supervisors of the Guangzhou Chamber of Commerce of Private Enterprise" and other sessions. Leaders from various walks of life in Guangzhou gathered to foster friendships and discuss important matters, thereby promoting development. At the meeting, a vote was conducted to elect the members of the ninth Executive Committee of the fourteenth Guangzhou Federation of Industry and Commerce (Guangzhou General Chamber of Commerce) and in turn the membership of the ninth session of the fourteenth Board of Directors and Supervisors of the Guangzhou Chamber of Commerce of Private Enterprise.

Chen Jianhua expressed in his speech that private economy was a vital source of market vitality, to which he added that outstanding private entrepreneurs represented the forefront of economic and social development. Moreover, this year was the first in the thirteenth edition of the "Five-Year Plan." Accordingly, Guangzhou will emphasize the overlying objective of building national key cities, accelerating the construction of three strategic hubs--international shipping, aviation and technological innovation--and foster the emergence of new development drivers, thus giving private entrepreneurs a broader platform from which to excel. Hope was expressed that the federations of industry and commerce, as well as chambers at all levels in Guangzhou, might serve to encourage the healthy development of private economy and the success of entrepreneurship. Additionally, private entrepreneurs would be expected to seize new opportunities, attain new achievements and achieve new, greater development in the "new normal" of China's economy.
The 2015 private economy of Guangzhou vaulted upward by RMB 720 billion and contribute approximately 40% to the Guangzhou GDP. Moreover, private investment in fixed assets in Guangzhou witnessed rapid growth in 2015, recording a year-on-year increase of 35%. During the coming year, Times Property will continue its development efforts as a means to assist in the rapid economic transformation and development not only of Guangzhou but throughout Guangdong Province.

The Guangzhou Federation of Industry and Commerce (Guangzhou General Chamber of Commerce), founded in 1952, is a local organization under the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce, a people's organization and civil chamber of commerce comprising a wide range of industrial and commercial enterprises (dominated by non-public enterprises), organizations and individuals engaged in economic work. Thus it serves as a bridge and bond for the party and government, through which to contact personnel working in the non-public ownership economy and functioning as an assistant for the government in an effort to manage the non-public ownership economy.
