Research Team of the “13th Five-Year Plan” of Guangzhou’s Cultural Industry Visited Times Culture Complex Innovation Park

A team of 20 paid a visit to Times Culture Complex Innovation Park in the afternoon of April 14, 2016, in order to conduct research on cultural industry and develop the “13th Five-Year Plan” for Guangzhou’s cultural industry. The team was led by Mr. Yang Daiyou, head of the Institute of Industrial Economy and Enterprise Management of the Guangzhou Academy of Social Sciences, and Ms. Ye Jingmin, the secretary of the Guangzhou Cultural Creative Industry Association. They were accompanied by Mr. Hu Mingzhi, the deputy head of Culture, Radio, Film, Television & Press Administration of Baiyun District; Mr. Li Jiu, the director of the Guangzhou Baiyun Technological Industrial Commercial & Information Bureau, and Mr. Lin Hankun, the deputy head of the Baiyun District Urban Renewal Bureau.

The research team led by Mr. Yang Daiyou, during its visit, praised the Culture Complex for the subtlety of its design. Moreover, many of the participants were surprised by how much the entire environment and amenities had been changed on the basis of the old plants. They lauded the Culture Complex as a model in stimulating the local economy, saying it has done so by transforming old plants and upgrading local industrial structures. The research team also investigated the industrial scale, structure and land use of the Culture Complex, after which they visited New Cinema Road and other important enterprises within the Innovation Park. They commended the Culture Complex on its effort to build service platforms for enterprises as well as the guidance and pooling of resources for Guangzhou’s cultural industry. When they were told that the Culture Complex had applied for permission to build a national-class incubator, and that it had given great support to young people’s startup projects in cooperation with Guangzhou Youth League and Makerstreet, they expressed renewed appreciation for the contributions that Culture Complex had made in the incubation of progressive industry.

Subsequent to the visit, Mr. Yang and other officials from the Baiyun District administration described the Culture Complex’s endeavor to gather enterprises that are trend-setting in the cultural industry. They said it has promoted the development of cultural industry in Guangzhou, thereby setting a good example for other cultural and creative parks. The Culture Complex provides high referential value for the development of the Guangzhou cultural industry’s “13th Five-Year Plan”. Going forward, the Culture Complex, a benchmark project developed by the Chidea Company, an affiliate of Times Property Group will continue to optimize the industrial structure in the park, improve service capacity and pool more external resources. Thus it will ensure that the Innovation Park remains a benign, interactive eco-system.
