An activity titled “Delivering Youth League Lectures, Uniting Youth League Members and Gathering Youngsters” was held on the thirty-fourth floor of the headquarters of Times Property Group in the afternoon of April 27. Designed as an event to accompany the “Youth League School by My Side” roadshow sponsored by Guangzhou Youth League School, the activity was co-sponsored by the CPC branch of Times Property, the CPC branch and the Youth League branch of Guangzhou Youth League School in order to commemorate the ninety-seventh anniversary of the “May 4th Movement”. Nearly 30 CPC members and youth representatives from Times Property were present for the activity, along with 15 of the Guangzhou Youth League School’s outstanding teacher. Ms. Chen Zhixuan, the deputy head of Guangzhou Youth League School and deputy head of the Guangzhou Volunteers’ Institute, and Ms. Li Lingling, the CPC branch secretary of Times Property, were also on hand to enjoy the gathering.

Secretary Li graciously welcomed the visitors from Guangzhou Youth League School. She added that it was the first event that the CPC branch of Times Property has sponsored along with a Youth League entity. She expressed hope that the event would help promote continued communication and cooperation. Moreover, she remarked the training platform of Guangzhou Youth League School would help Times Property improve the competencies of its young CPC members and employees in many respects, and that it would foster their growth. Deputy Head Chen Zhixuan presented a gift of textbooks and books published by Guangzhou Youth League School and Guangzhou Volunteers’ Institute to Times Property, and extended her regards to the young people present. She hoped the activity would strengthen the relations between the Youth League School and Times Property so that a platform for exchange could promote mutual development.

Mr. Huai Tao, the assistant to the head of Guangzhou Youth League School and head of the Volunteer Work Department of Guangzhou Volunteers’ Institute, was also invited to give a talk. He elaborated on the origin of the volunteering spirit, the development of volunteerism in China and the growing trend of service based on public and corporate action. It was clear that his lecture inspired the audience in regard to their own volunteer efforts and those they might undertake.

Mr. Huai also expounded that the connotation of volunteering spirit was “devotion, fraternity, mutual assistance and progress”. Following the talk, a small salon was held in order to encourage a deeper understanding of that spirit. The young staff members of Times Property shared their experiences as volunteers of Times Property Charity Foundation and their appreciation for volunteerism in an enthusiastic discussion.

Afterward, accompanied by the sign-language performance of a teacher from the Guangzhou Volunteers’ Institute, all the participants gathered to sing “Yi Qi Zou (Walking Together)”, Guangzhou’s anthem in praise of volunteerism. It is hoped that more people will undertake and carry on volunteering services held by the Guangzhou Youth League School and the Charity Foundation so that more people can benefit from love and care. We wish all young people a happy Youth Day!
