Humanities Festival: CISV Summer Camp China 2013 Opens at Times Bund (Guangzhou)
Concluding a four-mouth recruitment, the Gala Night of CISV Summer Camp China 2013 jointly organized by Times Property and CISV (Children's International Summer Village) was successfully held at Times Bund (Guangzhou) on the evening of July 17, 2013. More than 60 children from 11 countries attended and witnessed the international event, which combined fashion, humanity, art and classics. Mr. Cen Zhaoxiong, president of the Times Property Group, was also invited to attend the opening ceremony as a guest.
At this time, Times Property cooperated with CISV and the Dongfeng Donglu Primary School in hosting children from Brazil, the U.K. and nine other countries. When the opening ceremony was finished, the children would have their 28-day CISV Summer Camp at Times Bund Primary School. During the summer camp, all the children would live together, embrace China's 5,000-year cultural history, and feel the charm of Guangzhou. This camp was designed to serve as a place for multilingualism, cross-culture, teamwork and international friendship. It was believed that each child could gain a lot over the 28-day period.
It was a very special opening ceremony at the private theater of Times Bund (Guangzhou). The children sat on the floor in the private theater and watched the presentation on the CISV's development history and significance. At the ceremony, Mr. Cen also gave a warm welcome to the 44 children from 11 countries. He said the CISV summer camp was very significant for the building of children's belief in the world and themselves. He believed that all the children, despite their different cultures and backgrounds, would have a great time together.
Additionally, there was also a charity bazaar organized by the Times Charity Fund at the opening ceremony. All the money raised in the bazaar would be used for art education to benefit special children. The bazaar gained huge support from all the kindhearted guests of the CISV opening ceremony, many of whom took an active part in the charity bazaar. The aim of the bazaar was to awaken people's attention to special children and make such children feel the warmth of humanity.
