From May 31 to June 2, an activity themed “Wonderful Carnival with Guinness World Records” held in Times City (Fochan) has captured full attention based on the slogan of “Playing with the Best” during the golden holidays of Dragon Boat Festival and Children's Day. The high-profile carnival and a great number of gifts offered in these three successive days became the highlight of this hot holiday, stirring up a frenzy of Guinness in Sanshui.

Times City gave citizens a chance to challenge exceptional talents with Guinness Records during this holiday. Apart from enjoying the wonderful performance put on by the three Guinness World Records champions in playing hula-hoop, keeping balance force and bearing weight with the head invited by Times City, they could also challenge those talents on the arenas set at the spot to win "Star of Guinness".

On that day, citizens from the different areas of Foshan saw the elegant demeanor of the "three champions" and strove to compete against them in the meantime. Winners of the challenges would get hand imprint of Guinness and nice presents as well. There were, of course, not only challenging games with champions of the world, but also happy games, interaction with clowns and high tea for all people to rejoice together. Live interactive games such as "triumph in the sky" and "fun climbing" attracted all adults and children so much that they felt enjoyable in the lively and buzzing Times City.

The success of the carnival manifested the support and trust from parties for Times City, enabling Times City to surpass other competitors during this golden holiday and become the focus of the whole city.

“Autonomous Region” and “Indulgence – Individual Exhibition of Pipilotti Rist”, the two international exhibitions of Guangdong Times Art Gallery, were nominated for the Annual Art Exhibition of the “AAC Art China”. The third nominator was the “Profile of Times: Thirty Years of the Contemporary Art” Exhibition held by Shanghai Contemporary Art Museum. Ultimately, the judges unanimously agreed that Annual Art Exhibition Prize of the 8^th AAC Art China went to the “Autonomous Region” Exhibition. In the warm applause, Zhao Qie received the precious prize awarded by Xie Suzhen, the famous exhibition planner and the executive curator of Yinchuan Contemporary Art Gallery.

Starting from December 2013, the 8^th AAC has lasted for as long as half a year. In the process, over 100 prestigious judges were fully engaged in the preliminary and the final selections, ensuring the objectiveness, justice and fairness of the AAC selection. Meanwhile, the participation of these judges made the prize all the more attractive and thus became an “Oscar” in the art circle.

With a history of only three years, Guangdong Times Art Gallery has always stuck to the academic orientation of the contemporary art and has constantly held high-quality international exhibitions, playing an important role in the contemporary art circle of China and even the world.
