Jinshazhou is an island located in the west of Guangzhou city, connecting Chengxi, Guangzhou with Nanhai, Foshan. In Guangzhou and Foshan, the island has been called by different names. People in Huangqi, Foshan name this island “Xunfengzhou” after the nearby Xunfeng Mountain. Some other people call it the “straw-sandal-shaped island” because the island is surround by water and presents itself vividly as a straw sandal.

In recent years, with the urban development of Guangzhou heading westward, the development of Guang-Fo City is gaining momentum. Jinshazhou area is no longer “a pearl covered in dust”, but stands out as a well-received real estate development zone.

On January 20^th, 2003, the 1000-meter-long Jinshazhou Bridge was put into use, connecting Luochongwei to the east and Jinshazhou to the west. Jinshazhou new residential zone has a total planned area of 9.08 square kilometers and a planned capacity of 110,000 people. The Riverside Park, the Riverside Sports Park and the Eco-park are planned to be built. In two years, a total of more than 1.3 million square meters of commercial facilities will be put into use. By that time, the capacity of Jinshazhou new residential zone will exceed that of nine Teemalls combined.

In terms of transportation, Jinshazhou District is connected with the inner ring roads of Guangzhou via Jinshazhou Bridge and with the Guangzhou City Ring Expressway and Guangfo Expressway via Xunfengzhou Overpass. Guangzhou Metro Line 6 incorporates Jinshazhou into the municipal transportation network by three stations, including Xunfenggang (starting station), Hengsha, and Shabei. In addition, it is anticipated that in 2020, Guangzhou Metro Line 12 will be expanded to Jinshazhou and connect Line 6. By then, full coverage of transportation network will be realized.

With the advantages emanating from the construction of Guang-Fo City and the improvement of transportation, many real estate developers have stationed in Jinshazhou and pulled the area into the fast track of real estate development. A new round of revolution on living environment is brewing.
