An invitation tasting of manual bird's nest, called "Meet Your Beauty," was held at Times Park Laurel (Guangzhou) Marketing Center on March 19. The event was designed to highlight the special interaction between bird's nest and food. Under the guidance of Chen Xinyu, an expert in the selection andpreparation of bird's nest, the guests received invaluable knowledge about the classification, identification and stewing of bird's nest.
Spring rain continued on Sunday, but it couldn't keep the customers away. With the great expectation, the event started at 2:30 p.m.
Subsequent to a brief introduction, it was time for a lecture on bird's nest by Chen Xinyu, a recognized expert on the subject. "Bird's nest is also called Yancai, Yangen and Yan vegetable. It's very nutritious, containing 50% protein, 30% sugar and some minerals. So, it's suitable for everyone, especially pregnant women. The bird's nest is one of the precious and traditional foods of China, but three steps are needed to properly identify the nest. First, have a look. Second, smell it. Finally, touch it. Each step has its own skills. For example, during the first step you should observe its color and transparency." The audience listened, with rapt attention, to Ms. Chen's explanation.
After the lecture, Times Park Laurel (Guangzhou) provided five kinds of valuable bird’s nest to the guests, which was stewed very carefully. They included the finest white bird's nest from Sarawak, Malaysia; the first-class white bird's nest from southern Thailand; the first-class yellow bird's nest from Medan, Indonesia; nest silk from Jawa Tengah, Indonesia; and fine bird’s nest from Surabaya, Indonesia. Guests tasted the nourishing food and shared their experiences in beauty care amid the pleasant ambience of a spring afternoon.
