The final round of the Times King City (Changsha) Cup "Joyful Hunan, Quality Changsha, Happy Wangcheng" all-in fitness square dance contest kicked off on October 27. As a sports event in the grand style, the contest was organized by the Bureau of Civil Affairs of Changsha and the Publicity Department of Changsha Wangcheng District CPC Committee and sponsored by Times King City (Changsha). Fifteen representative teams from Changsha, totaling more than 800 dancers, had participated in the tournament for an audience of 1,000 eager spectators.

After the kickoff of the contest, graceful dancers moved in syncopation with the dynamic beat of passionate music, thrilling the audience with their skills. The dancers were uniformly energetic and elegant of bearing, and as they went through their perfectly rehearsed routines they embodied the timeless charm of dance. The performance also displayed the comprehensive quality and vitality of the women, who consistently receiving warm applause from the audience.

The participating teams were selected from the communities and streets of Changsha. Some of the members were retired teachers or physicians, while others were everyday senior citizens. In the final round of the festival, the audience was again stunned by a group of older dancers. Seeing their energetic movements on the stage, many of the younger people in the audience said things like, "I dare not call them old people again!" "Friendship comes before competition" was a saying repeated throughout the event. On this occasion for the display of physical stamina, a dance by a group of dynamic women brought us their infinite enthusiasm and vitality.

The competition was fierce, but the judges carefully scored every team and ultimately selected the champion. There were three prizes for outstanding performance, five first prizes, six second prizes and one honorable mention. Happy smiles could be seen on all the winners.

This Times King City (Changsha) Cup "Joyful Hunan, Quality Changsha, Happy Wangcheng" Square Dance Contest, as a showcase for the vitality of older citizens, not only was conducive to the physical fitness of old people but also showed their vigorous mentality and love of culture. Hopefully, even more people will join the all-in fitness teams and enjoy the fulfillment of an active life.
