The Times E-PARK (Tianhe) AI Event of the 5th Youth Innovation & Entrepreneurship Competition co-sponsored by Times E-PARK (Tianhe) and Guangzhou Youth Employment and Entrepreneurship Service Center, a contest jointly organized by the Guangdong Intelligent Innovation Association and XiaoJuRen Incubation Alliance, was officially launched on December 22, 2017. Mr. Xu Zhilei, an academician from the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Mr. Sun Zhu, deputy secretary of the Communist Youth League Guangzhou Committee, Mr. Wu Shigao, head of the Science Publicity Department of the Guangdong Association for Science and Technology, Mr. Quan Zaiqin, deputy director of Production and Service Industry Division of The Economic & Information Commission of Guangdong Province, Mr. Chen Jianlin, director of the Guangzhou Youth Employment and Entrepreneurship Service Center, Ms. Wang Yuanyuan, general manager of Times Commercial and Mr. Zhang Yin, executive vice president of the Guangdong Intelligent Innovation Association, among others, were present at the launch ceremony.

The 5th Youth Innovation & Entrepreneurship Competition in Guangzhou was co-sponsored by the Communist Youth League Guangzhou Committee, along with 11 government agencies including Industry and Information Technology Commission of Guangzhou Municipality, the Guangzhou Municipal Education Bureau, the Guangzhou Science Technology and Innovation Commission, Guangzhou Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau and other departments and undertaken together by departments such as the Guangzhou Youth Employment and Entrepreneurship Service Center. The program is intended to explore and optimize the ecology for innovation and entrepreneurship for the benefit of youth, thereby supporting and training talents of innovation and entrepreneurship and guiding the young generation to innovate in Guangzhou. It's one of the most influential youth-venture competitions in Guangzhou.

At the site of the launch ceremony, Ms. Wang Yuanyuan, general manager of Times Commercial introduced that as an industrial park in the core of Tianhe Smart City, Times E-PARK (Tianhe), based on the preferential policies of Tianhe District with respect to the IAB industry and through integration with the multiple resource platforms represented by Times Commercial, the Guangdong Intelligent Innovation Association and XiaoJuRen Incubation Alliance, will regard the competition as a carrier with which to integrate global intelligence and innovation resources to seek intelligent, innovative solutions to pressing issues and difficult problems facing the Pearl River Delta region as well as in the context of national development. The cooperative effort that made the competition possible also demonstrated the determination of Times E-PARK (Tianhe) to develop an industrial and ecological park with a focus on the IAB industry. We will continue to pay attention to industry trends in artificial intelligence and seek more opportunities for cooperative exchange.

The event benefited from the participation of Mr. Xu Zhilei, an academician from the Chinese Academy of Engineering; Mr. Wu Shigao, head of the Science Publicity Department of the Guangdong Association for Science and Technology; Ms. Wang Yuanyuan, general manager of Times Commercial; and Mr. Zhang Yin, executive vice president of the Guangdong Intelligent Innovation Association, each of whom participated in the inauguration ceremony of the Guangdong Intelligent Innovation Association and witnessed the official establishment of the Guangdong Intelligent Innovation Association in E-PARK (Tianhe). Additionally, they presented "Letters of Appointment" to 10 youth venture mentors and plaques of "Strategic Cooperative Partner in Youth Innovation & Entrepreneurship Competition (AI Event)" to 15 entities.

Based on the success of the Youth Innovation & Entrepreneurship Competition in its four years of existence, the event has connected with 30 venture-capital investment institutions, 37 press and various incubation platforms. The event will be followed by incubation support for the winning projects. The successful projects will receive gift packages valued at up to RMB 300,000 and will be connected with venture-capital investment platforms. Moreover, the AI event made its debut in the Youth Innovation & Entrepreneurship Competition.

Additionally, the three-day "Times International Intelligent Innovation Week" was launched that day. Many distinguished guests from the industry and academia were present to deliver speeches and engage in round-table conversations, in which they discussed the future of the AI industry.

Concurrently, more than 20 leading domestic AI enterprises displayed their respective cutting-edge technological products, including the Robotics Laboratory of Sun Yat-sen University, iFLYTEK, Tupu Technology Co., Ltd., AEROLITE and LING Technology.
