It was on October 31, at the launch ceremony of 2017 Guangzhou "Fortune • Innovation • Youth" Round-Table Summit and the fifth annual Guangzhou Youth Innovation & Entrepreneurship Competition, that Times E-PARK officially became cooperatively involved in the strategic organization of the AI Event in the Youth Innovation & Entrepreneurship Competition, thereby launching the program's first AI special contest.

The forum and competition were co-sponsored by 11 organizations: the Guangzhou Youth League, the Industry and Information Technology Commission of Guangzhou municipality, the Guangzhou Municipal Education Bureau, the Guangzhou Science Technology and Innovation Commission, Guangzhou Municipal Human Resources, the Foreign Affairs Office of Guangzhou Municipal Government, the Guangzhou Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office, the Guangzhou Taiwan Affairs Office, the Guangzhou Association for Science and Technology, the Returned Overseas Chinese Association of Guangzhou, the Guangzhou Daily newspaper and the Guangzhou Youth Federation. Organizations such as Guangzhou Youth Employment and Entrepreneurship Service Center served as co-hosts of the program, which was designed to coordinate with the 2017 Guangzhou "Fortune" Global Forum activity so as to establish a platform for international youth innovation, entrepreneurship exchange and docking.

The organizers of the event, which was to feature the round-table summit, youth innovation competition and entrepreneurial market, etc., invited domestic and overseas venture-capital investment experts, young entrepreneurs, globally renowned entrepreneurs, university professors and industry experts to discuss industry trends with a particular focus on Guangzhou.

Mr. Zhou Bo, the founder of Dream Chaser; Mr. Li Chunhong, honorary president of Guangdong Province Venture Capital Association; Mr. Zeng Zheng, a founding partner of QF Capital; Mr. Deng Yongqiang, founder of Inno Angel; Ms. Xu Li, the founder of Huagai Venture Capital; and Mr. Zhou Lingu, the COO of Feimalv, gave speeches on the topic of "Fortune • Innovation • Youth" and shared information on international innovation and entrepreneurship.

The Guangzhou Youth League and the relevant government functional departments have, since 2013, pioneered the concept of "promoting entrepreneurship and supporting incubation." In fact, the fourth edition of the Guangzhou Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition drew 7,890 domestic and overseas entrepreneurial projects and gathered a total online/offline audience of more than 200,000 young people.

The fifth Guangzhou Youth Innovation & Entrepreneurship Competition was held from October 2017 to February 2018. The competition evaluated more than 80 youth innovation and entrepreneurship projects in fields such as artificial intelligence, biomedicine and cultural creativity, emphasizing the strategic industrial layout of the Guangzhou IAB.

At the launch ceremony for the day's competition, Times E-PARK (Tianhe) officially became the cooperating strategic partner of the AI Event and accordingly hosted the first AI special contest. As in every case, Times E-PARK was an enthusiastic participant in the preparation, registration and venue arrangement, and it used the competition to promote the Youth Innovation & Entrepreneurship Competition.

Registration for the AI Event started in early November but had an official launch date of November 15. Times E-PARK (Tianhe) held a number of road shows in the park in order to provide more channels for exchange and project docking among groups of next-generation innovators. The details of the AI Event were released on the official WeChat account of Times E-PARK (Tianhe) for consideration by all of the prospective and registered contestants.

Previously, the Guangdong Intelligence & Innovation Association had officially settled in E-PARK (Tianhe). Given the prime opportunity to host the AI event, Times E-PARK (Tianhe) will attract more artificial intelligence industry resources, give full play to the industrial agglomeration effect of the "Guangdong Intelligent & Innovative Industry Demonstration Base," and gather innovative intelligence enterprises in order to create the "blue ocean era" of China's intelligent industry.
