Chairman Shum Chiu Hung Invited to Spring Festival Networking Event of the People's Government of Nanhai District
The Spring Festival Networking Dinner of the People's Government of Nanhai District for 2018 was held in the evening of March 19 at the InterContinental Hotel in Hong Kong. Regina Ip Lau Suk-yee, Jeffrey Lam Kin-fung and Starry Lee Wai-king, unofficial members of the Executive Council of Hong Kong and members of the Legislative Council of Hong Kong; Yan Ke, vice chairman of the Guangdong Province Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese; Huang Duanlian, deputy director of the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the People's Government of Guangdong Province; Huang Xizhong, member of the standing committee of the Foshan Municipal Committee; Liu Shan, deputy director of the standing committee of the National People's Congress; Deputy Mayor Yu Jin; Zheng Canru, the vice chairmen of the CPPCC; and other provincial and municipal government leaders, representatives of relevant departments of the Nanhai and Hong Kong governments attended the event along with leaders of the chamber of commerce and representatives of entrepreneurships.
Mr. Shum Chiu Hung, board chairman of Times China, gave a speech in which he said that Nanhai has, in recent years, steadily developed under the leadership of the district committee and government. He emphasized the area's second-place ranking in the top 100 districts for comprehensive strength among small and intermediate cities for four consecutive years, in the process winning the title of "2017 China’s Happiest City." Given the continuous improvement of transportation facilities, Nanhai's advantageous location has become more evident. With the opportunity of strategic development in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, the government of Nanhai District has sought to promote the construction of high-end service areas in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao as the means to bring forth a new round of development opportunities for Nanhai.
As a provider of services for urban development, Times China has actively participated in Nanhai's construction and development. Additionally, the company has invested in and supported various public welfare and education projects such as the Nanhai Education Foundation and Nanhai Middle School construction.
