On the morning of September 12, 2018, Times China and the CBA team Guangzhou Long-Lions held a press conference on title sponsorship at the Four Seasons Hotel Guangzhou, at which Times China announced that it would be the official title sponsor of the Guangzhou Long-Lions Basketball Club. Starting with the new season, slated to begin in October 2018, "Times China Guangzhou" would play in the CBA games.

On the day of the press conference, representatives of the two parties signed a cooperation agreement, which also opened the prelude to cooperation between the two parties. Both parties said that they would take the title sponsorship as an opportunity to continue exploring opportunities for deep-seated strategic cooperation in future group interaction.

Long-Lions Basketball Club was a highly marketized and commercialized club in China. On September 1, 2017, it became the first CBA club to be listed on the new three boards. After that, the team's record has risen steadily. In February 2018, Guangzhou Long-Lions broke through the team's history and successfully promoted to the CBA playoffs for the first time.

As the first CBA club to be listed after the title sponsorship, Team Times China Guangzhou will continue to uphold the fine tradition of Guangzhou basketball and show a new look in the upcoming 2008-2019 season of the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA). The Spaniard Juan Antonio Orenga, as the new coach, said at a press conference, "Team Times China Guangzhou is ready to start. Let's write a new chapter in the history of Times China Guangzhou."

In the past few months, the effort to build the Long-Lions Club continued. Juan was the head coach of the Spanish Men's Basketball Team. He is an expert in the training of young players and has rich coaching experience. Additionally, for the new season, with the choice of two foreign players, Times China Guangzhou first renewed the contract of guard Kyle Fogg and then signed a former member of the championship NBA Golden State Warriors, Marreese Speights. The two strong foreign players have outstanding abilities and will become the team's key to winning in the new season.

In terms of domestic players, Times China Guangzhou signed Shirelijan Muxtar and Sun Mingyang on loan.
