Times China was invited to participate in "Guangzhou Private Entrepreneurs Going to Bijie and Qiannan Prefecture to Conduct Pairing Assistance and Economic/Trade Inspection Activities" organized by the United Front Work Department of the Guangzhou Municipal Party Committee and Guangzhou Federation of Industry & Commerce. During the activity, which took place from August 29th to 31st, 2018, Times China donated RMB 1.8 million to Yangweng Village, Dujiang Town, Sandu County, Qiannan Prefecture and Xizhu Village, Limingguan Shui Nationality Town, Libo County, for the purpose of projects devoted to people's livelihood infrastructure construction, student assistance and education funding.

To further implement the spirit of the important speech delivered by General Secretary Xi Jinping at the Symposium on East-West China Poverty Alleviation and Cooperation, and in accordance with the Implementation Opinions of the General Office of the Guangzhou Municipal Party Committee and the General Office of the Guangzhou Municipal People's Government on Further Strengthening East-West China Poverty Alleviation and Cooperation and the Three-Year Action Plan for Guangzhou-Bijie (Qiannan) East-West China Poverty Alleviation and Cooperation, Mr. Lu Yixian, a member of the Standing Committee of the Guangzhou CPC Committee and director of the United Front Work Department of the Guangzhou Municipal Party Committee organized a delegation of more than 30 persons, including private entrepreneurs from the Guangzhou Federation of Industry & Commerce and Guangzhou Association for Promotion of Glorious Causes and some personnel from the relevant departments of organs directly controlled by the municipal government, to visit Bijie and Qiannan Prefecture in order to conduct counterpart assistance and economic/trade inspection activities as well as to assess he situation of local poverty-alleviation projects.

During the three-day inspection tour, under the leadership of Mr. Lu Yixian, the inspection team visited the Qiannan Shisu Industrial Zone, Guangzhou Industrial Park, the Agricultural Vegetable Base, the Agricultural Produce Processing Center and various other demonstration projects under the counterpart assistance of Guangzhou, during which each program segment was described in detail. Thus, the demonstration projects were shown to embody the remarkable steps toward poverty alleviation in Qiannan Prefecture and Bijie. Collectively, they strengthen the motivation of entrepreneurs to participate in the cooperative cause of East-West China poverty alleviation.

The Exchange Symposium on the Pairing Assistance to Qiannan Prefecture by the United Front Work Department of the Guangzhou Municipal Party Committee and Guangzhou Federation of Industry & Commerce took place on the morning of August 30 in the meeting room of the Administrative Center of Sandu County. At the symposium, the attendees first watched the investment attraction and publicity video of Qiannan Prefecture and listened to a report on the economic and social development of Qiannan Prefecture. In the following exchange session, Mr. Guan Jianhui, vice chairman of the Board of Directors of Times China, delivered a speech as an enterprise representative. He said, "Qiannan is a good place with beautiful scenery. It's my honor to attend this inspection activity, through which I'll acquire a deeper understanding of Qiannan. I believe there is great room for development in the area. We should make joint efforts for this beautiful place, facilitate the program of poverty alleviation here, and help more people live a better life." Subsequent to the speech, Mr. Guan, on behalf of Times China, signed the Village-Enterprise Pairing Assistance Agreement with the two villages under counterpart assistance, thus symbolizing the launch of the assistance action.

As the symposium was about to conclude, Mr. Lu Yixian made a summary speech, stating that Qiannan Prefecture has made remarkable achievements over the years, particularly as a result of Guangzhou's launch of a counterpart assistance program. Amid the full implementation of counterpart assistance, he said, the Guangzhou side will conduct assistance in the various areas of industry, employment and livelihood, contribute to the United Front Work Department, more fully implement the work arrangement of the CPC Central Committee in the spirit of the important speech delivered by General Secretary Xi Jinping on poverty alleviation, promote perseverance in the development of Qiannan Prefecture, and strive toward the great goal of poverty alleviation in 2020.

Times China, founded in 1999, consistently upholds its social responsibilities while maintaining prudent development. Over the years, the organization has spared no effort to participate in poverty alleviation and has strongly supported the causes promoted by the United Front Work Department of the Guangzhou Municipal Party Committee and the Guangzhou Federation of Industry & Commerce. Moreover, support for the Guangzhou-Bijie (Qiannan) East-West China poverty-alleviation campaign reflects Times China's dedication to such causes. Each year since 2010, Times China has supported the "June 30 Guangdong Poverty Alleviation Day." To date, it has donated RMB 85 million in poverty alleviation for the benefit of areas in Foshan, Qingyuan, Zhongshan, Zengcheng, Heyuan, Meizhou, Raoping and Zhanjiang.

Times China will carry forward the cause of poverty alleviation and contribute all it can to this essential battle.

[Description of the Villages under Paring Assistance Program]

Xizhu Village, of Limingguan Shui Nationality Town, is located in the southeastern portion of Libo County and at the core area of the UNESCO World Heritage site Maolan National Karst Virgin Forest Nature Reserve. Limingguan Shui Nationality Town covers approximately 490 square kilometers and has jurisdiction over 14 administrative villages, 157 village groups, 4,968 households and 21,141 people. The program, which is dedicated to infrastructure construction, will repair the village's main sewage pipes, roads, courtyards and greenways.

Yangweng Village is a level-1 poverty-stricken village in Dujiang Town, five kilometers from the location of the Dujiang Town Government. There are now 227 filed impoverished households and 944 people in the whole village. So far, there are 17 impoverished households and 143 people in the village. The program's general focus is on infrastructure construction for the public welfare, which includes road paving, the placement of fire hydrants and the installation of sewage pipes. Additionally, the program will assist the children of impoverished households in Yangweng Village with educational funds, including students attending kindergartens, primary schools, junior high schools, senior high schools and junior colleges.
