First virtual award ceremony via live streaming

The award ceremony for the third Times China Photography Contest of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area under the theme "A place your heart longs for" and the themed salon organized by Times China and Tuchong was held online at 7:00 p.m. on July 8. The ceremony was concurrently streamed on the applet Times+, the Tuchong app and the Weibo account of tuchong.com. In addition to presenting awards to all of the winning photographers, two young photographers were invited to discuss their craft in the contexts of art and life.

Times China, in April, again cooperated with Tuchong to organize the third GBA Photography Contest. During a 60-day period, entries from 11,865 photographers were received in total, including 48,649 photos and 1,603 short videos. Thus, the photographers conveyed their personal impressions of the GBA and its timeless beauty.

This year's theme is, "Everyone can be a life stylist". The entries submission channel of "special session of Times China" was reserved to encourage employees, owners and people who were fond of Times' design aesthetics to participate. Participants could take a photo of the ubiquitous inspirations for lifestyle whenever they walk in communities, commercial spaces and office buildings of Times China. A special award, "Top 5 Times Popular Works", was established. People could vote online, choosing among the 20 most outstanding works that were selected as part of the "special session of Times China". It was a rich opportunity for lovers of life to discover and share the beauty of their world.

Famous guests share their perspectives and talk about the lifestyle of photography

It was the first time that this ceremony was held via online live streaming. In this way, more people were able to experience beauty of the GBA and share in the joy felt by the winners. "A place your heart longs for" was the theme, and with that sentiment we expressed our appreciation for images conveyed through the photographer's heart and creative sensibility. We also wanted to remind people to remain hopeful amid the pandemic. We insisted that our hearts would always long for beauty no matter when and where we are, and we expressed the hope that everyone would welcome the chance to be a life stylist.

Two famous guests were invited to the evening's event in order to discuss the topics of "photography creation," "connection between arts and life" and others under the banner, "A place your heart longs for."

As the first guest to deliver a speech, Guo Yanxin provided detailed information about "how images bridge the gap between life and art". Her display of images from life in the GBA offered a personal, very artistic glimpse beyond the reality of the everyday, through which people can become "daily-life image producers" and, through photography, understand themselves more fully.

Thomas has a view of the world:

A young but seasoned landscape photographer

Thomas was a diligent programmer before he picked up photography. Later he took a bold move to engage in landscape photography. His works have received wide recognition. "Greenlandic Winter" was the Grand Prize recipient in the 2019 National Geographic Travel Photo contest. As a veteran Tuchong member, Thomas discussed his feelings about the craft and its ability to leave the viewer wanting more.

Times China safeguards "Beauty of the Greater Bay Area"

Development of a city is attached to people, while people are creating the city in every single moment. Accordingly, the beauty of the GBA emanates from the heart and mind of the one who beholds it. Times China has persisted with the mission of "helping more people live the lifestyle they are longing for". This year we put forward the theme that "everyone can be a life stylist", doing so as a way to encourage more people to experience the beauty of life and savor it with all their heart. The photography contest allows us to truly experience our life and changes in the GBA. We will continuously assist in the development of the GBA and improve people's living experience.

We believe that as long as we have sufficient passion for life and look forward to the future, everyone could be a life stylist. In the future, Times China will continue to organize this event to display ideal life with photography and jointly expect a better tomorrow in the GBA.
