Guangzhou Branch (South) Holds a Grand Groundbreaking Ceremony for GBA Headquarters

On October 10, 2020, when the autumn sun and breeze make for a fine day, a joyful ceremony to commemorate the groundbreaking for the Greater Bay Area (GBA) headquarters project of Guangzhou Branch (South).

Auspicious lions bode good fortune

Mr. Xu Wangqi, chief economist of the Pearl Bay Authority; Mr. Kang Feng, the general manager of the Operations and Product Center of Times China Holdings Limited; Ms. Li Weihong, the general manager of Times China Guangzhou Branch (South); Mr. Huang Suiyong, the general manager of Times Architecture; Mr. Qiu Zhigang, the general manager of Times China Urban Renewal Group (Guangzhou South); Mr. Huang Weiqiang, the executive deputy general manager of Shanghai Baoye Group South China Office, and elite staff members were on hand to witness the memorable occasion.

Mr. Zhang Rong, general manager of the GBA headquarters project on behalf of Times China Guangzhou Branch (South), delivered a moving speech to start the ceremony. Then, at the auspicious moment, Ms. Li Weihong, along with the management and guests, completed the ceremony. They offered prayers for a smooth project commencement and took a group photo. The air resounded with the sound of fireworks and cannon salutes, and with that the GBA headquarters project of Times China Guangzhou Branch (South) was on its way forward.

After the groundbreaking ceremony, all the leaders and colleagues present, led by Mr. Xu Wangqi, Mr. Kang Feng and Ms. Li Weihong, burned incense, prayed and carved the traditional roast piglet. Thus, the earth-moving ceremony was performed with golden shovels, after which the clamor of firecrackers incited cheers from the crowd. It was dramatic, electric atmosphere in which everyone had gathered. They prayed for a prosperous project and timely completion.

Senior Manager Hu Hanzhi, of the Personnel and Administration Department, gave lucky money to the guests, enhancing the day's excitement. Afterward, they shared roast piglet and other delicacies. Toward the close of the festivities, the attendees took a group photo amid cheers and laughter, thus marking the end of the groundbreaking ceremony.

The Times China headquarters project is located at the tip of Lingshan Island in Nansha, which, as the core business district of Pearl Bay, is the center of development for Nansha and the Greater Bay Area. The project, when completed, will be a unique, singularly artful landmark in Nansha while also injecting the Greater Bay Area economy with vitality.
