Times China Supports the Holding of the "Understanding China" Conference in an Effort to Share China's Voices and Stories

The Sixth "Understanding China" Conference (Guangzhou) was held at the Guangzhou Yuexiu International Congress Center during the period from December 1 to 4, 2021. Mr. Shum Chiu Hung, deputy to the People's Congress of Guangdong Province, president of the Guangdong Youth Entrepreneurs Association and board chairman of Times China Holdings Limited, graciously accepted the invitation to attend. As a cooperative enterprise of the conference and an urban development service provider deeply rooted in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Times China supported the conference in an effort to promote a global understanding of China.

This conference was jointly undertaken by China Institute for Innovation & Development Strategy, the Chinese People's Institute of Foreign Affairs, the People's Government of Guangdong Province and the People's Government of Guangzhou Municipality. Based on the theme "Whence and Whither: Unprecedented Changes in the World and China and CPC", famous former dignitaries, heads of international organizations, and distinguished representatives of international academic and business circles held in-depth discussions and exchanges during the conference. The "Understanding China" Conference has been held for five years, making it an influential platform for the world's appreciation of China's principles as well as a bridge to other cultures. Highlighted by rich content and important topics, the four-day conference had an opening ceremony, keynote speeches, six thematic forums, 12 parallel seminars and various related activities. Thus, the conference fortified the mutual understanding between China and other countries. It played a significant role in conveying the qualities and goals of China, Guangdong and Guangzhou while dramatically extending the influence of this great city.

To help the world understand China, eight thematic seminars were held with Guangdong as a key example, covering themes such as "the city of happiness", scientific and technological innovation, business environment, "the city of humanity" and the digital economy. Meanwhile, the allow the guests to savor the city and experience the renewed energy of its old urban area, Guangzhou has, in alignment with the theme of the conference, joined with the China Institute for Innovation & Development Strategy and other relevant departments to plan a series of supporting activities such as food display, artistic performance, drone performance, visiting and investigation in an effort to highlight the charm of Guangzhou, the elegance of Lingnan and the spirit of China.
