The new CBA season is about to get underway.

The ceremony was attended by Mr. Wang Yuping, secretary of the CPC Committee and director of the Sports Bureau of Guangdong; Mr. Ouyang Ziwen, secretary of the CPC Committee and director of the Sports Bureau of Guangdong; Mr. Liu Kejun, vice chairman of Chinese Basketball Association and chairman of the Guangdong Basketball Association; Mr. Xu Zongxiang, chairman of the Guangzhou Basketball Association; Mr. Zhou Siyang, co-president of Times China Holdings Group; Ms. Li Lingling, secretary of the CPC Committee of Times China Holdings and chairman of Times Foundation; Mr. Kong Juhua, brand director of Times China Holdings Group; Mr. Zhong Naixiong, chairman of the Board of Directors of Nenking Group and chairman of Loong Lions Basketball Club Co., Ltd.; Mr. Tang Judong, vice chairman of the Management Committee of Loong Lions Basketball Club Co., Ltd.; and Ms. Chen Jing, president of business operations of Loong Lions Basketball Club Co., Ltd. in addition to other officials and executives.

Times China, in September 2018, became the title-sponsor of the only CBA team in Guangzhou--Times China Guangzhou team. It marked the fourth year of cooperation between Times China and Loong Lions Basketball Club, but it also marked the start of a new phase in their cooperative effort.

On the site of the expedition ceremony, representatives from both parties signed the renewed agreement. Both parties indicated that they would continue to expand the scope and depth of cooperation by taking basketball as an entry point in the future.

Times China and Loong Lions Basketball Club collaborated and established themselves as a classic example of brand sponsorship and commercial operation in China's top professional basketball league over the past three years. The contract renewal signified that both parties would continue to strengthen their brand connection and explore new cooperation models and opportunities.

Times China initiated and hosted multiple mass sports events such as the Foshan 50km Hike, Qingyuan Marathon, Zhaoqing Marathon and Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Table Tennis Tournament so as to promote an active, healthy, positive lifestyle and the development of national fitness and sports. During the recently concluded table-tennis competition held as part of the National Games, the Guangdong team of Times China Holdings won three gold medals and a bronze, thus demonstrating the best performance of any Guangdong table-tennis team in the history of the National Games.

Guangzhou sports have boomed in recent years. Accordingly, mass sports, competitive sports and the sports industry have enjoyed strong results. Guangzhou was a significant contributor to the Olympic Games and the latest edition of the National Games.

Guangzhou strives to establish itself as a world-famous sports city, but a famous sports city cannot be built without the development of basketball. Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Director of the Guangzhou Municipal Sports Bureau Ouyang Ziwen voiced his expectations for the team, "Team Times China Guangzhou has achieved remarkable results in recent years and has even been recognized as an outstanding entity in national mass sports. Team Times China Guangzhou Head Coach Guo Shiqiang, on behalf of the team, presented an official jersey signed by all of the players to Times China Holdings Group Co-president Zhou Siyang. Mr. Siyan in turn presented the flag to Team Captain Zheng Zhun. The flying flag underlined the vitality of the Guangzhou team and its determination to achieve success in the new season.

Gearing up and Uniting for a New Journey

During the last season, Team Times China Guangzhou surmounted difficulties, kept growing, and delivered a wonderful comeback. Ultimately, it advanced to the playoffs and completed its goal for the season.

The team has been on a roll during the off season, not only selecting all-around forward Qi Haotong from Xiamen University with the eighth overall pick in the first round of the draft but also bringing three-point shooter Li Jinglong to the guard line along with the outstanding rookie Tong Jiajun.

Team Times China Guangzhou is actively preparing for the new season with high morale. It will be ready for the challenges of the new season, which it promises to lead with motivation and performance.
